Desplechin's most pleasing feature yet, with drama and comedy in equal measures and a fabulous cast headed by Catherine Deneuve. The film details the joys and vicissitudes of family life through the gathering of the Vuillard clan.  The family semi-reluctantly reunites for Christmas, because Junon (Deneuve) has been diagnosed with a fatal degenerative cancer which might be cured by a bone marrow transplant.
