Alfred Hitchcock 1935 - 86 mins
England
Language: English
A welcome re-release of one of Hitchcock's most
acclaimed films. As in many of his films it features an ordinary
man who becomes embroiled in the world of murder and foreign agents.
Witty and full of suspense, it also features the director's
trademark flourishes. When did you last see this on the big
screen?
Score: 78.41%
Some members' comments:
Awful sound, but great fun.
Charming, but dated drama.
How nice to see a film with good direction and no special effects.
Did the milkman get out alive? Terrific pace and plenty of sly Hitchcock jokes.
What a period piece!
A world where men smoked, femmes were fatales, teeth were terrible - all vanished, but not forgotten.
It has not worn well.
Funny for all the wrong reasons.
The Bond of '35?
Hard to hear the dialoque.
Hilarious.
